Cosmetic procedures

Cosmetic procedures are operations and other procedures that revise or change the appearance, colour, texture, structure or position of normal bodily features with the sole intention of improving the patient's appearance or self-esteem.

Council's expectations of doctors who perform those cosmetic procedures are outlined here. These include standards relating to training, skill and expertise, advertising and obtaining consent from the patient.
